Hair and make-up for SanDisk promotional video

I was recently lucky enough to work with Brighton based video production company, Have a Butchers (, who enlisted my hair and make up services on the shoot of a promotional video for one of their main clients, SanDisk.

Directed by Evan Pugh and produced by Luke Cairns, the “Quick Tips” video will feature on SanDisk’s branded Amazon pages as well as on the European SanDisk website.

Given the brief of natural, clean hair and make up, I prepared Dan and Yuliya’s skin using MAC Prep and Prime Moisture Infusion followed by Dermalogica’s Intensive eye repair cream and Active Moist. I then smoothed over a little MAC Matte (to prime) and finished with MAC Face and Body Foundation. I kept the whole look fresh and shine free throughout the day with MAC Prep and Prime Transparent Finishing Powder.

Yuliya has gorgeous long hair, which I kept simple in a side plait, smoothed with Salon System Shine Spray and kept in place using Redken Pure Force Non-aerosol Fixing Spray.

Due to the nature of the shoot, several close ups of the models’ hands were required. Yuliya’s prior modeling job had left her with badly damaged nails which needed to be rectified.

I applied Rituals Hand Therapy Ultra softening hand scrub which helped to smooth the cuticles and improve the overall condition of her hands. I moisturised using Rituals Ginkgo’s Secret Hand balm. A small amount of MAC Face and Body Foundation was then applied to conceal any imperfections visible on camera.

Filmed at Camberwell Film Studios, here are a couple of shots from the day:
